Tea on the pavement

On Saturday morning I had a surprise!  Veronica Fourie, SABC-journalist and media colleague of the previous century, called to say she was in the Richmond Hill area.
She is such an outgoing person that I thought I could turn an ordinary tea-visit into something different. Out went a little table, chairs etc and within minutes we were comfortable under the large plane tree on the pavement.  We saw life passing while we had a serious philosophical conversation

We could even invite a very distinguished begger to our table. Daniel was coming to the Cornerstone church next door to ask for food.   While Veronica listened to his tragic story of losing his house in a fire in New Brighton, I could go to the kitchen to fix him breakfast.

Laptop delivery ...

My brother-in-law Gawie Rousseau was elated to receive his new laptop delivered to his home address in Jeffreys Bay. Kia researched the best option for his requirements and did all the technical stuff in PE.

Final celebrations for 2012

The month and year has come to an end and therefor my 66th birthday celebrations also ended.  The latter took al forms and guises ...    Here are a few highlights ... the others have been described in previous blog entries:
Emile visited from Stellenbosch and it was an experience to see him swallow his vitamins, shakes and barleyweed at breakfast every morning. Eon was interested in his brother's fitness regime etc.
Eon checking the ingredients in the large container

Starting the day with a foul-smelling concoction

Kia was preparing the sandwiches for the open fire
but joined Eon for the pic

Eon was more at home in the garden with a braai fire going ...
  Emile and Kia

During my birthday weekend Kia, Catherine and Derrin took over the kitchen and spoiled me with lunch.
Here they are at work and play ...
