Birthday in Gauteng

My eldest son Emile's 30th birthday celebrations started at 06h00 on the 25th. Liezel surprised him with a chocolate cake and we had to wake early to sing "Happy birthday ...

At Saturday's party the northern wing of the Wegner-clan
came together and enjoyed a perfect summer's day.
Here Kia joined me in the "frame".

Welcome to Getzi

There is a zippy little vehicle at Vintage Verandah.
He (she?) is five years old and was aquired after spotting an ad on Gumtree after many searches.
After taking possession of Getzi on Monday, I laid on a formal welcome in the garage.

After depositing the money into the previous owner's account on Saturday, a foreign visitor was spotted at the NG Kerk across the street. I could not resist potographing him (her?) resting on the holy house!

Barbies travel down the hill

Nina Botha who runs plavka clothing in Campbell Street was looking for "finishing touches" when she stumbled upon my 3 Barbie dolls on the "small visitors rack" in our home.
Immediately they were "shipped off" and are temporarily kept in a cage in her shop.
Joining them in an opposite corner are her mannequin wearing a fencing mask and a huge rose.

Favourite finds at charity shop

Through the years I had lots of fun finding bits ... from memorabilia to trivia. I regularly pop into Hospice in Rink Street as it is closest to our home. The staff feels like family. Here Sandra and Wendy shows a doll dating from the 50/60's.
