Day 110 of Lockdown

Tursday, July 14... Snow, gale force winds and a "quick" cloud burst above our house teamed with ever increasing Covid infections cloud our existence.
   - pass between Graaff-Reinet and Middelburg earlier today... my first encounter with snow more than 60 years ago -

Our health workers are carrying a heavy burden  and funeral homes are finding it hard to cope... One of PE's well-known establishments figured on Instagram (via Time)
Government has taken harsh steps and extended the state of disaster until 15 August.  Alcohol is once again banned and the wearing of face masks mandatory.
On the home front I can report that it is not easy to be a cat carer in cold and rainy conditions.   I keep the front door open so that Katite can come and go.  The house is freezing cold but cat is happy... Fortunately I have a hotwaterbag!
He comes in wet and gets a rub.  Full-time job!
Kia is still in Lorraine and her tasks are Herculean compared to mine!
