Day 42 of lockdown

7 May... Stats as published in Die Burger today :
We made use of the granted "outdoor session" today and left the house just after 8 am.  We met neighbour Cleone in Stanley Street and continued around a couple of blocks.
Surprised to see the Ground Floor Cafe open and serving coffee in take-away cups.  There was one happy customer on the pavement.
And there was life at Kindred Kitchen as well. The owners entered as we passed. I suppose they executed many orders For delivery as they were active on IG advertising the menu.
Fortunately we are able to concoct our own smoothies... while thinking of the many mornings I enjoyed my favourite almond butter smoothie in Raleigh Street.  But our banana, carrot, pineapple, ginger and papaya tasted just as good.
The day was filled with pruning and watering in the garden. Also many phone calls to find out how to help our Zim neighbour Violet gain info about giving birth during the lockdown period.  In a nutshell Sandford at Provincial offers a "walk-in" delivery service to State patients.   If there is no way of a natural birth on the cards, the patient  is taken to Dora Nginza by ambulance for surgery.   I have learnt a lot today. Glad my maternity days are over.
Lovely pics of Yael and Ilan was received and I commend the Kyalami kids for hang in there with no hired help!
Masks are becoming a fashion item in some circles and a bare necessity in other cases.
I found some soft copper wire and made this one from one of my (clean) doilies after seeing this one below earlier today...
This person below had to make do with a somewhat suffocating style...
