Kia chauffeured me around town for grocery shopping and we were out for more than 2 hours because of the queing and waiting. But there is fortunately no rush in my life currently and Kia did not have clients. We even had baby clothes shopping on our agenda for Violet, our Zim neighbour.
Every day brings a surprise and this evening it was Hanna Kotze phoning to tell me about the delivery of a freshly baked ciabatta from her brother's hand!
On TV, I spotted a familiar face! Kobus Spies was introducing an Oudtshoorn initiative on the lifestyle programme DeKat.
On the Covid side of life, the stats are becoming worrying for the rulers of our land. Hospials are being shut down when an infection is detected. And so it is with police stations, shops etc.
This is the situation today :
No person is allowed to enter a shop or public building without a mask. So with medical masks in shortage, cloth masks of different fabric, styles etc, are order of the day, whether factory made or homemade.
This was the front page of a newspaper supplement over the weekend.
And from Brazil, my friend Deborah sent a pic of her mask...
She says the scull and bones are sending a message to the nation that the virus is deadly.
