Debra stayed with us for a few days in November.    I met her at the Abraham hostel in Jerusalem at the end of November 2014.

    I was on a strict eating plan in Novrmber 2016, but she insisted on making her miracle apple cake !   She and Kia enjoyed it, and so did my friend Christine Malan after she offered to take Debra to the Addo Elephant National Park.

   Before Debra left Port Elizabetyhm I took her to the GFI gallery where she was overwhelmed by the head of Madiba.

Coachsurfer lends a hand

In September, Katarina Muller from Soa Paulo stayed in the Dust Palace for two nights.
    Before she left she wanted to "do something".  I was preparing a tea party for my ex library friends, so she found herself vacuuming the lounge and dining room.

Premature birthday lunch at Boschendal

Five weeks to go to my 70th birthday, and the celebrations started at Boschendal in the Boland.
    Emile and Jana surprised me with lunch at Die Werf.

A beautiful venue in Theescombe is proving to be a tranquel haven.
   I attended a musical event and had te opportunity to spend time in the garden of Marius Lourens this afternoon.
   A windless afternoon.  Unforgettable ,

A Paradise wedding

Inge's sister Yolanda chose the Happy Hippo at Paradise Beach for her and Etienne's wedding the past weekend.
     We were not at the beach but had a spectacular view of the river  after a pothole-and-mud- nightmare to get to the wedding.... but the day was beautiful and the atmosphere ideal.
    I took a few sub-quality cellphone photos but jazzed them up with Prisma,downloaded free from Playstore...
    The bride and her mother Lauraine went from ordinary image to Louvre quality!

Verandah full of life on Woman's Day

All my children, lovely duaghters-in-law included, were under my roof for a few days.
    Unfortunately Emile and Jana had to leave for Paarl just after breakfast, but be had quality time - even if it was just for a long weekend.
    Here Inge carries the camping cot, purchased via Gumtree in GlenHurd, to the car...

Sherlock cottage gets a new look

Renovation ended mid Sept 2015                       pics taken later

Eon did a marvellous job inside the cottage...
    I could never have dreamed that the old wooden floors could get a shiny new life. The new tenant is a minimalist and the place has a new airiness about it.
